Manchester United have confirmed the signing of forward Melvine Malard on a three-year deal. The France international spent last season on loan at Leigh Sports Village from Lyon, scoring five goals in 19 Women's Super League (WSL) appearances for Marc Skinner's side.

She also featured as a second-half substitute in the Women's FA Cup final as United beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 to clinch their first major trophy.

And the Reds have now triggered an option to buy the 24-year-old for an undisclosed fee, with Malard having signed a deal that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2027.
