A Manchester brewery is to host a special beer festival featuring live music, traditional games and more than 20 different cask ales to sample.

The Woodthorpe Beer Festival will be held at the Woodthorpe pub in Prestwich by Manchester brewers Joseph Holt from November 24 to 26.

The Bury pub is the family home of Sir Edward Holt, the son of the brewery's eponymous founder. The weekend event will allow visitors to sample a wide range of ales and beers, and feast on pies and Bratwurst sausages.

There will also be talks from brewers and an international keg bar.
