A man shot in a gun attack that killed a dog in Cumbernauld in January is back in hospital after being ' stabbed ’ in the street over the weekend.

Marc McDermott was shot in the back and backside during the previous attack that took place in Brunswick Gardens on Thursday, January 23.

A dog walker was also injured during the incident and her pet, a white Maltichon called Henry, died as a result of a firearm being discharged.

McDermott, 27, was taken to hospital after the shooting before being later released. He is now believed to have been stabbed in the Lanarkshire town on Saturday night.Emergency services raced to Hornbeam Road after reports of a 27-year-old with serious injuries.McDermott was rushed to hospital and his condition is
