Man found not guilty of attempted rape of teenage girl in woods

A man accused of attempting to rape a teenage girl in woodlands in Tameside has been found not guilty. Kevin Lee Martin, 39, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of attempted rape in December 2021.

This followed a report to Greater Manchester Police that a teenage girl had been assaulted on Sunny Bank Vale in Droylsden, near to Greenside Lane.

The incident was alleged to have happened at around 3pm on November 14 last year. Mr Martin went on trial at Minshull Street Crown Court.
