Lea Michele had a very special Mother’s Day at a performance of Funny Girl! The 36-year-old Glee actress brought her son Ever on stage at the curtain call of the show, who looked out toward the audience.

Lea and her husband Zandy Reich are parents to Ever. “Thank you for all your well wishes this past week,” Lea wrote over a photo of Ever with a hospital band on his wrist. “We are taking our boy home from the hospital soon.

Thank you to all the amazing doctors and hospital staff.” Now, Lea is facing health challenges of her own from COVID, for the second time since she began performing.

Last September, just days into her run in the Broadway musical Funny Girl, Lea had to take time off to recover from COVID. “I’m devastated to say that due to early signs and symptoms of COVID and an inconclusive test result – due to the production’s safety protocols I’m not allowed to perform for today’s shows,” Lea said in her statement last September. Julie Benko filled in for Lea last September and is stepping up to fill her role for the performances that are taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Ephie Aardema is taking over on Friday.
