Larkhall charity Heart of Africa UK receives a wish from South Lanarkshire Council

A Larkhall charity has received equipment to launch a lunch club thanks to the council’s Community Wish List.Heart of Africa UK requested a cooker and kitchen equipment through the council’s scheme with plans to launch a community lunch club.The charity promotes integration through arts, food and community activities to enhance the understanding of Africa and ethnic minorities in the UK.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

This donation has moved us closer to achieving our mission.”Compliance manager for Maxi Construction Ltd, Lisa Aitken, said: “We were delighted to be able to reuse commercial kitchen equipment released from a GPA (Government Property Agency) project in East Kilbride.“We were only able to achieve this by working collaboratively with the GPA to identify equipment coming free and with South Lanarkshire Council to identify possible benefactors.
