Lanarkshire gin company among signatories of letter of concern over marketing ban proposals

The boss of a Lanarkshire-based alcoholic drinks business has joined with over 100 other companies calling on the Scottish Government to rethink proposals to ban marketing of their products.The producers of whisky, gin and beer, from across the country have come together and claim that the move to ban alcohol advertising and sponsorship, “threatens the very existence” of members of the Scottish drinks industry.If given the green light they could see and end to companies selling branded merchandise and branding on glassware and parasols and umbrellas in the beer gardens of licensed premises.
