Nineteen young Lanark Amateur Swimming Club swimmers brought back 10 medals from the Trojan time-banded meet at Whitburn.The gala was divided into four different time bands, with ‘swam too fast’ and top-six finish awards being given in each section.Ten of the Lanark swimmers won medals – Maja Hansen, Holly Henderson, Rebecca Lloyd, Eilidh McArthur, Erin Purves, Charlotte Small, Kallie Thomson, Hugo Kazlauskas, Ethan McQuigg and Lewis Tait, and 46 personal best times were posted.Coaches Brian Wright and Ainslie Ashwell-Wright were pleased with performances from the young swimmers.Head coach Karen Kelly said: “Many of the swimmers had competed at the recent Rutherglen meet, but bettered their times at Whitburn.“It is good for the less experienced children to compete outwith their home environment.”On the same weekend, Caitlyn Hamilton competed in a Masters meet in Dundee, putting together three solid swims.Caitlyn finished third in 100m freestyle, and fourth in both the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
