Connor Barron has thanked Aberdeen for setting him on the journey that has landed him a move to Rangers. The former Dons midfielder was out of contract this summer and has decided to take the next step in his career under Philippe Clement at Ibrox.
The Scotland Under-21 cap moved to Govan under freedom of contract with Record Sport previously revealing that Rangers had made an offer of around £500K - but that is nowhere near the Dons' valuation. Both clubs remained locked in talks over a possible deal but Pittodrie supremo Alan Burrows insists the Dons are prepared to take their Scottish Premiership rivals to a tribunal if it means getting the best value for the midfielder.
However, all the talk behind the scenes doesn't seem to be playing on the mind of the youngster who has thanked his old club for everything as he gets set to embark on his new journey. He said: "As a player you've got to do things for yourself sometimes and do what is best for your career at the right time.
I have paid my thanks to Aberdeen. They brought me up from a boy to the player I am today. I thank them for everything they have done to help me get here in my career.
