Kym Marsh was supported by her co-star as she updated viewers with a heartbreaking update about her dad's cancer battle.The 47-year-old appeared on BBC Morning Live alongside Gerthin Jones on Tuesday, November 2 revealing that her dad's cancer had spread, reports OK!.In 2021, the singer gave the heartbreaking update that her dad, David, had been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer.

Kym bravely opened up about the news in the hope of raising awareness about the illness, encouraging the public to go and get checked.Addressing Kym's comeback on the show, Gethin said: "Kym, it's been a minute since we've seen you."Kym replied: "I know, it's been a little while, hasn't it?"Gethin then quizzed Kym about her dad, saying: "I know you've been spending quite a lot of time with your dad recently.

We know Dave really well on Morning Live, and the reason you've been spending time with him is because you've had some bad news, haven't you?"Kym then shared the update that recent scans revealed that David's cancer had spread after doctors discovered it had travelled up his spine.

The TV star continued: "Yes, Morning Live has been following dad's cancer diagnosis, which was about two and a half years ago, I think now, and his latest scan results have shown, unfortunately, that there are more cancer deposits further up his spine now."She added: "They are doing further scans to see if it's gone into any more of his bones, but unfortunately, they can't offer him chemotherapy."Kym also revealed that doctors have now encouraged her and her family to spend as much time with her dad as they can.She said: "So they advised us to go and spend lots of time with him and make lots of memories.
