Kilmarnock star David Watson won't get complacent despite being first team regular

David Watson insists he won't get complacent and will work hard every day to improve.The Kilmarnock teen sensation has been a mainstay in Derek McInnes' starting XI since making his debut in March, but the 18-year-old won't be taking that for granted.He was rewarded with a fresh contract that will keep him at Rugby Park until 2026, and even that won't stop him putting the hours in on the training pitch.McInnes gave Watson the day off on Monday after a trip to Dingwall and a Scotland Under-19s camp, but that didn't keep the midfielder away from Rugby Park who came in to train anyway.Watson insists he's not going to start taking days off when he doesn't need to.He said: “The new deal gives me a bit of security and I can go and focus on my own game now and do what I do. “I’m still young, I don’t want to be taking days off that I don’t need.

I just want to keep doing what I’m doing and just do what I can. “It’s important not to get complacent, there are a lot of good players in this squad who want to play every week.
