Kate Garraway was left in tears by Sam Ryder on Friday's Good Morning Britain as the singer performed live in the studio. The TV presenter had been chatting to Eurovision Song Contest runner-up Sam earlier in the show as he promised he would come back to perform before the episode ended.

Switching from an interview where she grilled Health Secretary Steve Barclay on radical plans to boost NHS staffing, Kate went from tough journalist mode to wiping away tears as she was so moved by Sam's voice.

He was singing his track, Fought and Lost, and took a casual approach, sitting on the programme's sofa to play his guitar. As he finished the emotional track, Kate was shown wiping away tears and struggling to get her voice back under control as she said: "Oh my god..." Co-host Ben Shephard asked her: "Have you gone?" She replied: "That has floored me, I'm on a hair trigger emotionally and then mix in that voice - oh, Sam, you've finished me off!" Kate continued to wipe away her tears as Sam said goodbye to the Good Morning Britain presenters.

As she introduced the ad break, Kate added: "That voice live is unbelievable." Earlier in Friday morning's show, Sam had spoken to Kate and Ben about working with Queen legend Brian May on the track, who features in a guitar solo.Telling how he had first met Brian, Sam said: "That was a funny call. "I was sitting there watching Ted Lasso because I knew the song was coming up in the series and I was really excited about it. "As I was watching it I got a phone call from a number I didn't know and I was quite annoyed actually because I was missing Ted Lasso. "He said' 'Sam it's Brian!
