Jamie xx announces first new album in nine years ‘In Waves’ along with UK headline show

Jamie xx is back and has announced details of ‘In Waves’ – his first new solo album in nearly a decade. Check out the latest single below, as well as details of a newly-announced London show.Set for release on September 20 via Young, the news of the upcoming project comes nine years after the musician, DJ and producer dropped his Grammy-winning debut ‘In Colour’.The sophomore album will comprise 12 new songs from Jamie xx, including his recent collaboration with Honey Dijon for the summer hit ‘Baddy On The Floor’.

It is also set to capture the same “emotional crescendos and thrilling volatility of an almost mystical night out”. It sees him join forces with huge names including Robyn, Panda Bear, John Glacier and more.It has been in the works for four years now, and is also set to include further collaborations from his xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim.To celebrate the announcement of the LP, the producer has dropped the riotous new single called ‘Treat Each Other Right’.While it is only officially available today, the futuristic anthem has already been played live numerous times by Jamie – with the track making its way onto many of his DJ sets over the past few years.This, a press release says, was so the musician could gauge the crowd reaction to the breakbeat anthem, and continue to refine the track until it felt complete.
