James Martin makes public appearance after quitting his Saturday morning show to focus on cancer diagnosis

James Martin stunned fans as he made a public appearance at the BBC Good Food Show on Friday despite previously announcing that he'd be stepping down from his roles to focus on his cancer diagnosis.The TV chef, 51, rustled up some food and even took part in a discussion on the Let's Talk Stage at Birmingham's NEC venue.The TV star, who has two restaurants and stars on Saturday Morning with James Martin on ITV, told the sold-out room he would be cooking three dishes, including his take on a KFC-style chicken, which he called a JFC.

His appearance comes just weeks after he announced that he'd be taking a break from his ITV Saturday Morning show amid his ongoing treatment.

The presenter looked as stylish as ever at the convention in his smart black shirt and jeans which he paired with a suave blazer.

While making his 'JFC', Martin reportedly told the audience: "I don’t use an air fryer. In my opinion they should be banned." He then added, to the laughs from the audience: "I don’t even want to speak to anyone that has an air fryer." His appearance comes just weeks after the celebrity chef announced he would be taking a break.
