ITV Emmerdale star reveals cancer scare as she urges fans to check themselves

It’s been a tough time for Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter). Not only has she been diagnosed with breast cancer, she’s also been told that she’s a carrier of the faulty BRCA2 gene.

The beloved Emmerdale character was devastated by her diagnosis earlier this year, and then had to break the news to her family.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) then had a choice to make - whether they get tested for the gene, or not.

Chas encouraged her loved ones to get checked, as they could pass the gene onto their children too. While Cain and Caleb wanted to get tested, Aaron remained undecided.

Is ‘Renegade Nell’ season two happening?

Derry Girls star Louisa Harland leads historical fantasy adventure series Renegade Nell.Written by Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley) and directed by Ben Taylor, the Disney+ series follows young fugitive Nell Jackson (Harland) who becomes the most feared highwaywoman in 18th century England after being framed for murder.Other cast members in the series including Joely Richardson, Adrian Lester, Nick Mohammed, Craig Parkinson, Frank Dillane and Iz Hesketh.All eight episodes in the first season were released on March 29, 2024.A second season is yet to be confirmed by Disney.
