A League of Ireland derby ended in chaotic scenes as fans scrapped on the pitch at full-time.But the violence had an element of farce added as an unofficial Rangers anthem blared over the PA system while Drogheda nad Dundalk supporters went at it.

The clash between the local Louth rivals at Oriel Park finished 4-2 to the hosts, who took the local bragging rights. A second half double from former Hibs star Daryl Horgan proved decisive as Dundalk opened a five point gap over their rivals at the foot of the league table. It seems that outcome was too much for some disgruntled onlookers, who spilled on to the park and started a full blown rammy.

Punches and kicks were thrown as stewards half-heartedly tried to split battling punters up, after a number had run on from behind the goal to attack their opposite numbers, who responded in kind.Footage of the fighting emerged on social media, but it was the soundtrack that added a comical element to the concerning scenes.

mental As Anything's 1985 hit Live It Up blared as the two sets of fans clashed, throwing punches as "Hey there you with the sad face" serenaded the scrappers.Rangers fans will recognise it immediately as the tune that soundtracked their 2021 Premiership title win.
