The actor spent Christmas in Scotland with new girlfriend, Scots Love Island star Laura Anderson, before crashing his vehicle on Monday December 26 and ending up in hospital.
The couple, who met on the most recent season of E4's Celebs Go Dating, shared the news on social media after Gary, 41, was discharged from hospital in crutches and a knee brace.
After the father-of-four was resting up, 33-year-old Laura shared a collage of their day to fans - including loved up Christmas snaps, as well as Gary lying in a hospital bed and a photo of his extremely swollen knee.
Re-sharing the image on Instagram, Gary wrote: "Huge thank you to all at Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital."He added: "And to one special nurse in particular... @lauraanderson1x," alongside three red heart emojis.
