A holiday flight carried out an emergency landing at Manchester Airport today (Tuesday) after developing a technical problem half way to Cape Verde.

The Boeing 737 Max 8, which carries up to 210 passengers, departed from Newcastle Airport at 9.39am but the captain decided to abort the trip as the jet neared Spain, over the Bay of Biscay.
