A woman celebrating Mother's Day with her family was left in shock when police were called after their meal descended into a 'farce.' Toni Hulme had booked into a Stoke-on-Trent restaurant to celebrate the special day with 19 relatives.

But after issues with the booking followed by 'terrible service', Toni asked for a refund of £25.54. It covered the amount for two sides which she claimed 'never arrived' and a mix-up with two other meals.

However, the restaurant - Gables in Blurton, run by Marston's Brewery- refused the refund and threatened to call the police if they didn't leave.
