Hannah Waddingham 'excited' to be joining forces with Prince William on Earthshot Prize

West End star Hannah Waddingham is "joining forces" with Prince William to work on the Earthshot Prize ceremony.The actress, who is also known for her TV roles on Ted Lasso and Sex Education, has said she is "honoured" to be working with the Prince of Wales on the "exciting" awards ceremony.

After wowing audiences with her hosting at Eurovision and the Olivier awards, it is being reported that Prince William has also requested Hannah to host at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Singapore.

Every year, the ceremony sees five winners rewarded for their efforts in helping the environment as part of a week-long celebration.

It is thought that as well as working with Prince William, the Emmy Award winner will introduce musical entertainment by Brit pop stars Bastille and OneRepublic for the event on November 7.The 49-year-old said: "The work of the 2023 Prize Finalists is a hopeful reminder of the power of optimism, innovation and human ingenuity. "It is an enormous honour to be joining forces with the Prince of Wales for this exciting evening and to play a part in sharing the finalists’ inspiring stories and solutions with the world." Other stars will also be joining West End star Hannah for the glitzy event, including Tár actress Cate Blanchett.The 54-year-old, said: "The Earthshot Prize is, again, highlighting and incentivizing courageous, progressive and inventive solutions that can be rapidly upscaled. "We don’t have time for inaction and despair, and the incredible climate solutions from around the globe are cause for genuine hope." "The climate solutions showcased by the prize are wildly exciting – exciting because they are so simple, so possible, and so inevitable.
