Luton Town have reportedly taken former Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe on trial. The defender, 25, has been without a club since leaving United at the end of last season.

The Reds made the decision not to renew his contract, allowing him to leave the club and start afresh. Tuanzebe spent the second half of last season on loan at Championship side Stoke City.

He joined the Potters in January and made just five appearances because of injury. Staying fit has been an issue for the United academy graduate in recent years, restricting his progress.

He spent the 2021/22 season out on loan, spending the first half of the campaign at Aston Villa and the second half in Italy at Napoli.
