Former gang leader Daniel Gee, who absconded from prison and was on the run for several weeks, has been handed additional jail time.
Gee, notorious for transforming his own estate into a round-the-clock drug dealing hub, escaped from Kirklevington Grange prison in North Yorkshire on May 27.
The 44-year-old was eventually captured by Merseyside Police officers in the Aspull area of Wigan on Tuesday, June 25. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police, who had taken over the investigation from their counterparts on Merseyside, confirmed to the Liverpool Echo today that Gee was charged with being a temporarily released prisoner unlawfully at large.
He was sentenced to four months concurrent to his Imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP) sentence at court on June 26.
