David Beckham
David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

Former Coronation Street star tells how Manchester shopping trip led to David Beckham 'starting career'

Former Coronation Street star Lucien Laviscount has shared his link to David Beckham whom he credits for getting him into acting.

The actor appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday (May 16) to discuss his new film. Lucien is set to star in This Time Next Year, an upcoming romantic comedy film which is an adaptation of Sophie Cousens' novel of the same name.

But as a clip of the film was shown, talk quickly turned to the star's accent as Ranvir Singh shared her surprise that he's from Burnley. "It’s funny, every time I get an audition for something British, they’re like '[talk in] your natural accent' and I'm like 'Nooo, you don't really want that!' So I normally go a little bit more southern, more proper," he said. Ranvir and co-host Ed Balls were also keen to talk to the former Waterloo Road star and current Emily in Paris favourite about his connection with David Beckham and how his career started with a modelling job. "I was 10 years old, out with my mum window shopping in Manchester and then got asked to audition for this modelling job and I just thought, 'Great, it’s a day off school,'" Lucien, who played Ben, a friend of Sophie Webster, in Corrie in 2009.
