Flamingo Land’s plan to build a massive theme park on Loch Lomond have been branded "well and truly sunk" after Scotland’s eco watchdog raised flood fears.Campaigning Green MSP Ross Greer said the intervention by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) had dealt a “devastating rebuke” to the controversial development.The Record can reveal Flamingo Land’s project to build a mega water resort along the banks of the iconic shoreline has been flagged by Sepa as at serious risk of flooding.A flood risk map of the proposed site shows how swathes of its 46 acres have been deemed vulnerable to downpours.They include the “vast majority” of a large proposed “forest lodge” site, its hotel, apartments and main visitor hub, a proposed craft brewery and sections of its planned monorail.In a letter to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority, Sepa said if the blueprint for the plans was not altered by developers to address the flooding risks, they should “consider this representation as an objection”.The watchdog added the risks of devastating deluges are expected to grow bigger due to climate change.We told in March how the Flamingo Land bid had become the most unpopular planning application in Scots history, with more than 72,000 objections now lodged.Last year, we highlighted concerns from heritage chiefs at the National Trust for Scotland that the £40million holiday complex would clog up roads and ruin natural beauty if approved.West Scotland Green MSP Greer said: "SEPA’s objection is a devastating rebuke to Flamingo Land and underlines just how badly thought through their destructive proposal is.“The community have already made their overwhelming opposition known, but that hasn’t stopped Flamingo Land from
