First Street to get winter takeover with festive tipi, beer broiled hot dogs and board game brunches

Food venture GRUB will be taking over First Street for a two-month winter residency with a cosy tipi space, street food, and plenty of fun events including adult LEGO and open mic nights.

GRUB & Friends will kickstart their ‘Winter At First’ festivities from November 4. In addition to a warming atmosphere, there is set to be a whole host of creative workshops, parties and comedy shows with delicious beer and drinks from North Brew Co as well as beer-broiled hot dogs from new street food brand Oscars Dogs.

The first batch of events to be taking place as part of the takeover have been announced, and they will include a modern plant hanger workshop with Manchester Macrame Co on November 7 and a queer life drawing class with Ben Saunders on November 9. There will be a LEGO session for families on November 25. House Rules will host a disco day party on November 11 where the street is transformed into a disco paradise with 'non-stop dancing and unforgettable beats'.
