Coronation Street’s Lisa George breaks silence amid Beth Tinker's absence from soap

Coronation Street star Lisa George has addressed the rumours that her character Beth Tinker had been written off the ITV soap after an ongoing absence from Weatherfield.The 52 year old actress assured fans that she had no plans to leave the cobbles and it was simply down to a cocktail of issues.

As well as being in the middle of contract negotiations, Lisa's discovery that she wasn't involved in a run of storylines over the summer meant she decided to jet off on a trip around Europe.

She then contracted the coronavirus, which kept her from returning to work even longer.
