A bully-type dog that was shot dead by police in East Kilbride has been pictured for the first time.Sources have claimed that the dog, understood to have been named Kilo, was recently brought to Scotland from England.
Armed cops shot the 'dangerously out of control' dog after a Collie was mauled and three people were injured in Mannering, Calderwood, at around 10.25am on Sunday.It's understood gun cops were drafted in after local officers attempted to contain the animal before the entire street was locked down.In a distressing video circulating online, an officer could be heard counting to 10 before horrified locals heard gunshots ring out and a dog yelping.
Three people were reported to have suffered minor injuries during the incident.Police Scotland confirmed this morning that an 18-year-old girl will be reported with offences relating to the Dangerous Dog Act.
Local residents in the area said online that the bully type dog had attacked the Collie before it turned on people who tried to intervene.One local man said: "Three armed police units arrived and cordoned off the area, then I heard a gunshot.
