Fire crews race to Scots street after blaze breaks out as public urged to avoid area

Fire crews are currently battling a huge building blaze on a busy street in Rutherglen.Emergency services raced to Main Street at around 12.15pm today street after a fire broke out in a building.Huge plumes of smoke can be seen billowing over the sky as crews attempt to extinguish the blaze.Motorists and pedestrians are being urged to avoid the area, with residents being advised to keep their windows and doors closed.There are currently no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for SFRS confirmed they have four appliances in attendance.
