Ferarri and £30,000 of cash seized in probe over unlicensed Botox and fillers

A Ferrari and tens of thousands of pounds in cash have been seized as part of a probe into 'unlicensed medicines'. Three people were arrested by police during a series of raids over the sale and supply of illegal versions of Botox and fillers.

A Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and around £30,000 was seized after storage units and beauty shops were searched. A large number of items are said to have been taken by investigating officers from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).Two women, aged between 36 and 53, and a man, 34, were arrested for alleged money laundering offences and crimes covered by human medicines legislation.

As reported by our sister title, the Manchester Evening News, they remain in police custody and are due to be questioned by detectives.

The raids took place at properties in Bolton, Wigan and Leigh on Thursday morning, and paperwork and other evidence was also seized from another address.The raids came following an investigation by MHRA and Greater Manchester Police into the suspected sale and supply of unlicensed medicines in Manchester.Detective Inspector James Coles, of GMP’s Economic Crime Unit, said “We will continue to work to put a stop to criminal finances in their early stages as this often is used to further criminality."I hope this serves as a stark reminder that our unit is relentless in the pursuit to tackle money laundering.
