The 26-year-old has struggled to make any mark on the Premier League after leaving Ajax back in 2020 during an injury-hampered spell in the English top flight - having failed to make an impact at United as well as during a loan spell at Everton.Van de Beek has returned to training this pre-season after a six-month injury lay-off with a knee injury but reports suggest he is considering a move away from United - with Brendan Rodgers reportedly an admirer as he looks to get his squad ready to make an impact on the Champions League group stage next term.
And despite his return to fitness, the door could be open for a switch the Scottish Premiership after Ten Hag's latest move.
He has been left behind at Carrington by the Dutch boss as he takes a 26-man squad to Oslo for Wednesday's opening pre-season fixture against Leeds United.
