Adidas has revealed Manchester United's new third kit was inspired by the 1909 FA Cup final. Played at Crystal Palace in front of just over 71,000 supporters, the Reds beat Bristol City to lift their first-ever FA Cup.

Sandy Turnbull was the only goalscorer on the day as both teams reached the final for the very first time. Both the Robins and United traditionally wear red kits but unlike in the present day where only one team would change their strips, the FA ordered both sides to change for the showpiece.

City chose to wear a blue kit while the Reds chose a white shirt with a red V-stripe.
