ScotRail has paid tribute to three people who were killed after a tragic derailment in Aberdeenshire three years on from the fatal incident.
Driver Brett McCullough, conductor Donald Dinnie and passenger Christopher Stuchbury all lost their lives when the train hit a landslide near Stonehaven on August 12, 2020.
Six other people on the Aberdeen to Glasgow service were injured. A report by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) found failings by Carillion and Network Rail had led to the crash, making more than 20 recommendations a year ago.
On the third anniversary of their deaths, ScotRail offered "love and support" to the loved ones of the people who sadly died.ScotRail said on Twitter: "Today is the third anniversary of the tragic accident at Carmont, when we lost our colleagues Brett McCullough and Donald Dinnie, and passenger Christopher Stuchbury."We send our love and support to their families, and everyone across the railway family affected by the tragedy."An investigation by the UK Department for Transport's Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) was published last March.
