An elderly couple were left “horrified” and “upset” after they were charged £110 by Ryanair to print their boarding passes at the airport.
Ruth, 79, and Peter Jaffe, 80, were flying from Stansted Airport to Bergerac, France, on Friday when they discovered that they had downloaded the inbound ticket on their phone instead of the outbound one.
Mrs Jaffe said she found the Ryanair website “confusing” but thought she had downloaded the correct tickets. The couple were directed to the Ryanair desk where they then discovered they had to pay £55 each to print off the correct boarding cards.
The incident has since sparked outrage online after their daughter posted about it on X, previously known as Twitter. Ryanair has stated that the fees are in line with their terms and conditions.
