It's estimated that almost a quarter-of-a-million people attended the Ayr Show over the weekend, as council chiefs admit being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of visitors.
Organisers, South Ayrshire Council, have told how around 240,000 flocked to the Low Green to take in the aerial spectacle as the town basked in a late summer solstice.Families, children and aviation enthusiasts all packed into the Festival Village as they looked up to the skies to see iconic aircraft fly over and perform daring stunts.
Saturday saw the biggest boom of crowds, with tens of thousands heading to the coast to get a glimpse of the iconic Red Arrows who produced a grand finale.
Ayr Show bosses have admitted they were caught off guard by the incredible numbers that piled into the town on Saturday.Ayrshire Live previously reported how car parks swelled with motors as Ayr sizzled in the sunshine.
