An artist at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe was left upset when just one person attended one of the first ever performances of her solo show.Georgie Grier, from London, was performing 'Sunsets', which falls under the solo show and comedy category.

However she said just one person was in the audience at the Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose venue on Thursday.Georgie tweeted a picture of her looking upset, with the caption: "There was one person in my audience today when I performed my one woman play, ‘Sunsets’ at #edfringe.

It’s fine, isn’t it? It’s fine…?,"However she said her spirits were raised by the support from people since the tweet, including a video message from one of the most successful comedians in the UK.Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Georgie said she received a video message from Jason Manford as hundreds of people sent positive replies to her tweet as well as making other fringe-goers aware of Georgie's act.

She said: "It's really nice to hear the support as I'm here with my show on my own so it's really nice to feel a part of something larger because earlier today there was just one person so I felt so upset."I sent that tweet as I didn't have anyone to talk to and didn't want to call my mum crying but I didn't expect the reaction I have had and it is so lovely to get so much support as I feel like that is what being here is all about."It's my first full run at the Fringe and I knew it would be like running a marathon but I didn't realise how hard it is, especially at the start when it's still quite quiet around the city.
