Police and the Welsh government have issued over parking in Snowdonia this Bank Holiday weekend. It comes after dozens of cars were towed away from the area when it was thronged with visitors at Easter.
Almost 40 cars were removed by cops at the beauty spot which is loved by many people from Greater Manchester. Officers said drivers were risking their lives after 'irresponsible' parking on narrow mountain routes at Eryri National Park, also known as Snowdonia. And in a social media post shared and supported by North Wales Police, Traffic Wales said: "Remember to park responsibly this bank holiday weekend!
Please avoid blocking driveways or access points and make use of designated parking spaces. "Let's prioritise road safety and accessibility by being considerate and following parking rules." They hinted at further enforcement by sharing one picture displaying a sign in both Welsh and English saying 'Tow away zone.' North Wales Police previously said that 'irresponsible and dangerous parking' around Pen y Pass and Llyn Ogwen 'not only risks lives, but also prevents emergency vehicle access' They said any more drivers who park on the clearway, on double yellow lines or cause an obstruction will have their vehicles removed 'at their own expense'.
