Travellers at Edinburgh Airport were bewildered recently after a fellow passenger was captured smashing his suitcase to bits so it would fit into a carry-on luggage sizer. In a video shared on TikTok, the frustrated passenger was seen stomping on the rolling wheels of his luggage in order to make it squeeze into an easyJet-branded sizer, which punters use to check their baggage will be accepted in the cabin.Edinburgh Live reports that staff at departure gate 24, ready for a flight to Belfast, could only look on as he tore the case to pieces in a bid to make it fit the desired dimensions. In the video, which is set to jaunty music, the traveller is seen trying to jam his suitcase in several times, with each step becoming ever more drastic in his bid to avoid paying to put his bag in the hold and waiting for it at the other end.

At first, he begins stomping on the wheels, to reduce the bag's overall footprint. When that doesn't make it small enough, he then grapples with the extendable handle, yanking it clean out of the case in order to make it fit.

Fellow travellers can be heard laughing in the clip as he struggles to make the case small enough for the airline's exacting standards.

And when he finally appears to squeeze it inside, other passengers sitting in the terminal can't help but applaud his determination.
