During a chat with his co-host Isabel Webster about the difficulties of retiring early in these times, Eamonn said that he had no plans to retire from TV anytime soon, because he wouldn't want to be sat around watching "Loose Women" every day.The sly dig was undoubtedly aimed as a light-hearted tease at his beloved wife, who is also 63, especially as the pair were known for their jibes and quips every Friday on This Morning. Jokily mimicking those who ask incredulously "You're how old?", Eamonn explained: "You know, they think you shouldn't be working. "A lot of people my age, 47, would just feel they are active.
Well, I'm not physically active but I'm compos mentis [a Latin term for having full control of one's mind] and you want to be involved. "You are defined by what you do, you don't want to be sitting there at home all day watching Loose Women, do you?" the broadcaster then demanded, as Isabel giggled in return. "No, but I do look back to the days of my grandparents who had a terrible war," she went on.
