A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a bus window being smashed in Kilmarnock town centre.The Stagecoach vehicle was attacked in the town centre on June 29 with passengers put on to an alternative service following the vandalism.The number three bus, which operates between Kilmarnock and Onthank, was pulled over safely by the driver on Titchfield Street before they called police.The service was delayed slightly while a replacement bus was arranged.Stagecoach said that no passengers were injured as a result of the incident.Police confirmed last week that a 13-year-old was identified and was charged in connection with culpable and reckless conduct.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "On 29/06/23, a report was received of a bus window being smashed at Titchfield Street, Kilmarnock.

Subsequent enquiries have led to a 13-year-old male youth being identified and charged with culpable and reckless conduct."A spokesperson for Stagecoach West Scotland confirmed: "We can confirm that customers were transferred onto a replacement vehicle in Kilmarnock due to an act of vandalism, we apologise to our customers who may have been delayed as a result. "The safety of our employees and customers is our number one priority and we can confirm there were no injuries onboard, we're committed to continue to work with Police Scotland and East Ayrshire Council to stop these incidents."
