DWP ruling sees 220,000 people stripped of PIP payments

The Department for Work and Pension (DWP) has stripped 220,000 people of their Personal Independence Payments (PIP) following an assessment.

The approach saw people's personal details reviewed by the DWP. Details were revealed after the DWP released data around 'review outcomes' over the five-year period between February 2019 and January 2024.

This is when people on PIP are reassessed to see if their support should continue. And the end result was more than 200,000 people losing their PIP allowance.
