Denise Welch has said she can fully appreciate why Meghan Markle has decided against attending King Charles III's coronation in London next month.

In a statement from Buckingham Palace this week, it was confirmed that Prince Harry, will be present at his 74 year old father's crowning ceremony alone, with his wife, 41, staying at home in California with their two children. "Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on 6th May," it read. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet." Royal fans and critics soon shared their thoughts on the couple's decision and Dan Wootton, who hosts a regular show on the right-wing channel GB News, wasted no time in deriding the Duchess.

He tweeted: "So Meghan bottles it, leaving Prince Harry to attend the Coronation alone in order to avoid boos from angry Brits in the crowd.

But how sad to deny the king the chance to see his two grandchildren who will remain in California." It wasn't long before people hit back though – and 64 year old Loose Women panelist Denise led the charge.
