A new report states that Meghan Markle and King Charles spoke directly to one another regrading her concerns over the royal family’s unconscious bias.

The duchess reportedly sent Charles a letter following her and Prince Harry’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, which disclosed allegations that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born,” The Telegraph reports.

Markle’s correspondence with her father-in-law was sent in response to a letter she initially received from Charles expressing his sorrow over the family tension.

The report further notes that Charles, who was then known as the Prince of Wales, was the only senior royal who reached out to Markle following the “Oprah with Meghan and Harry” TV special.
