A deaf customer at a Starbucks cafe in Manchester has claimed they were asked if they were drunk by a member of staff. Comedian and actress Samantha Baines, who is an ambassador for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID), took to social media to share comments one of her followers made regarding an incident which is claimed to have taken place at the Starbucks store on Market Street.

Samantha, who was diagnosed with hearing loss at 29, said the person was asked to repeat themselves by a member of staff before being asked how deaf they really were and then told they appeared to sound drunk.
