Coronation Street onscreen couple in shock split as they file for divorce
ok.co.ukIn the latest episode of Coronation Street, viewers were completely heartbroken as one of their favourite couples called time on their marriage.
In Friday’s show, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) delivered a formal letter to Carla Connor (Alison King) at the factory.The contents of the letter wasn’t revealed straight away, but Carla was visibly shocked and distraught by what she read.
As the episode continued, Ryan discovered the letter was actually Carla's divorce decree absolute from Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) - who left the cobbles last year to sail around the world.
Fans were completely floored with most not even realising the couple were filing for divorce. Viewers took to Twitter, now X, to express their sadness, with one user writing: "Carla and Peter are divorced. #Corrie" accompanied by crying emojis.
