Community groups urged to consider support offered to buy land and buildings

Motherwell and Wishaw's MSP Clare Adamson has hailed a £1 million increase for the Scottish Land Fund which could support local groups in North Lanarkshire to buy land or buildings for community projects.Funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership by The National Lottery Community Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the scheme offers grants from £5,000 up to £1 million to help communities take ownership of the land and buildings that matter to them, as well as practical support to develop their aspirations into viable projects.The Annual Report for the Scottish Land Fund for 2021/22 showed that since 2016, 270 projects had been awarded a total of £45 million under the scheme.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
