Channel 5's Radford family supported as cancer fundraiser reaches £60,000
dailyrecord.co.uk22 Kids and Counting's the Radford family and their loyal fleet of followers have flooded Sophie Walker and her parents with financial backing to raise money towards a fundraiser that has now reached over £60,000.The latest episode of their Channel 5 show featured mum Sue Radford, 48, Noel Radford, 53, and some of the couple's large brood of children organising a car boot sale, reports the Mirror.They had been attempting to raise money for 17-year-old Sophie, whose family are understood to have appeared in the recent episode.
Sophie has nine siblings including a twin sister, with her mum Rebecca Walker and dad Jamie Walker pals of Sue and Noel.Sophie has "been battling Wilms tumour" for years according to the GoFundMe page set up for the teen.
It's described by Cancer Research as "a type of kidney cancer that most commonly affects young children". The fundraising page adds that she's "encountered a series of unfortunate events with her treatment" and that the NHS "can't offer much hope," adding that she could have palliative chemotherapy but it "wouldn't give her much quality of life".
The page, set up by mum Rebecca, adds that she may be able to have treatment abroad. A link to the fundraiser - which has reached over £61,000 and has a goal of £350,000 - was shared on the Radford family's Instagram recently.
