Celtic have reportedly come to Dundee's aid in order to try and ensure that Saturday's match against Motherwell at Dens Park goes ahead followed by next week's visit of Rangers.
Large parts of the north east of Scotland have been bit by heavy rain all week, with conditions expected to get worse in Dundee by the time Saturday's game is due to kick off.
As a result the hierarchy at Dens Park are now considering moving the venue for the weekend's game elsewhere in order for it to be played and have held emergency talks with SPFL bosses. But now according to the Scotsman, Premiership champions Celtic have stepped in to help alleviate those fears by providing Dundee with pitch covers in an effort to protect the pitch from the heavy rainfall.
The report says that the covers will be laid on the Dens Park turf today and that Dundee bosses are doing everything they can to ensure the pitch is playable for the visit of the Saints in two days time.Just four days after the game against St Johnstone, Tony Docherty's Dundee will play host to Rangers in another pivotal game in the Premiership title race.
