School placed in 'lockdown' and police called over parent's behaviour

Police were called out as a school was put into lockdown over a parent's behaviour. Families were told that Congleton High School, in Cheshire, was in a 'lockdown procedure' this morning (May 1).

Students were said to be safe at the site, but officers were called out to attend. Cheshire Police confirmed it attended the school at around 10am, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

It followed a parent, whose behaviour 'concerned staff', being asked to leave. A force spokesperson said: "A parent had attended at the school and their behaviour concerned staff. There was no threat to students, staff or the wider public." Parents were sent a message from the school's deputy headteacher.
