Police have released a CCTV image of a man after an attack in Edinburgh following an Scotland v England rugby match. Emergency crews were called to the assault on West Preston Street in the city centre at 8.40pm on Saturday, February 24.

Officers say inquiries are ongoing. They have released an image of a man they wish to speak to. Cops believe the man in the images may be able to assist them with their investigation.He is described as white, with short dark hair, clean shaven and is of an average build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black puffer jacket, black hoody, red t-shirt, khaki green trousers and black trainers.Detective Constable Greer said: “I would urge the man pictured or anyone who may recognise him or has information about this incident to contact us as soon as possible.”Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3704 of 24 February, 2024.
