Members of the public on the outskirts of Greater Manchester are being urged to check any "sheds or outbuildings" for a missing pensioner who has dementia.

Linda, a 78-year-old from Poynton, was last seen around 8.30pm on Sunday evening (July 9). Cheshire Police are urging anyone in the area, near Macclesfield, to check any buildings that missing Linda Shaw could have taken shelter in.

It is thought that the septuagenarian who lives with dementia could have become confused. According to police Inspector Robert McCubbin, "several officers" are out searching for Linda as they have become increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Anyone who might have seen her is being urged to come forward with any information. READ MORE: Bomb squad descend on Bridgewater Canal and explosion carried out after 'grenade' pulled out of water Linda is described as white and 5'3, last seen wearing a blue jumper and black trousers.
